MA Student Awarded Best Poster & More From ONTABA2025

We are thrilled to share that Ashley Rodrigues, an MA thesis student in our lab, earned the Best Poster Award at the Ontario Behavioural Analysis Association (ONTABA) 2025 Conference, held in Toronto on November 6th, 2025, for her very first MA poster presentation.

Her poster, titled “How ADHD, ASD, dating violence, and perspective-taking interact: a cross-group comparison” (Rodrigues, A., Diaz, M., Marchetti, S., Moscovitz, A., Cwinn, E., & Malkin, A.), showcased preliminary findings from her ongoing thesis research. The project examines how neurodevelopmental differences intersect with social cognition and relationship experiences, highlighting the complex ways that perspective-taking relates to vulnerability and resilience across groups.

In addition to Ashley’s success, our lab was proud to present two other posters at ONTABA 2025. Our Lab Director, Albert Malkin, presented “Beyond Accuracy: Sentiment, Engagement, and Model Trade-offs in ABA Twitter Discourse”, and presented on behalf of MA student, Sophia Marchetti, with her poster titled “Examining dating violence in Greek Life through a novel behavioural measure of perspective-taking” (Marchetti, S., Rodrigues, A., Han, S., Moscovitz, A., Cwinn, E., Malkin, A.), and served as a Discussant for a symposium entitled “From Learners to Leaders: Research Insights on Graduate Training for Behaviour Analysts”.

Albert was also invited to be a guest on the Behaviour Speak Podcast, live at ONTABA, to chat about the research and academic programs that him and Nicole Neil are involved in at the Faculty of Education at Western University.

We are very proud and thankful for the recognition of our lab’s work; this not only celebrates Ashley’s promising start as a researcher but also reflects the exciting, meaningful research our team is carrying out.

Congratulations to all three presenters on an outstanding showing at ONTABA 2025!
