LOL Lab Members at Western Research Forum 2026
On March 6, 2026, LOL MA students, Charlotte Kerr (MA School and Applied Child Psychology) and Sophia Marchetti (MA Counselling Psychology), attended the 2026 Western Research Forum. The event brought together graduate researchers from across disciplines at Western University to share their work and engage with the broader academic community.
Charlotte presented her research examining perceptions of artificial intelligence use in counselling settings. As AI tools become increasingly integrated into professional practice, questions about trust, ethics, and the human elements of care are becoming more urgent. Charlotte’s work explores how counselling students perceive the role of AI in counselling contexts, including comfort with AI-supported tools and how these technologies might influence expectations of therapeutic practice.
Sophia presented her research on perspective-taking skills and the prevalence of dating violence within Greek life communities. Her project investigates how the ability to understand another person’s perspective may relate to attitudes and behaviours surrounding dating violence. By examining these dynamics within the social context of Greek life, Sophia’s work contributes to conversations about empathy, prevention, and relationship health.
Congratulations to Charlotte and Sophia on sharing their work with the Western research community.
